QUERCUS PRINUS
Grower Notes:

Commonly referred to as the Chestnut Oak, this deciduous, native tree can reach 50-60 ft in height with an equal spread when grown in the open. It is capable of reaching 100 ft in the woods.

It has glossy, green leaves that turn yellow-brown or reddish-brown in fall. The fruits are oval acorns with warty cups and they fall in October and are particularly sweet.

The Chestnut Oak has attractive dark brown to black bark is deeply ridged and furrowed.
